One of the largest fashion events of the year, the Met Gala, is on Monday in New York City.
Some of the world’s top designers and most style-conscious celebrities will gather at the Metropolitan Museum of Art fashion events to pose
for the press at this annual celebration of the Costume Institute’s upcoming exhibition.
The German designer Karl Lagerfeld, who passed away in 2019, will be honoured in the 2023 show for his illustrious career.
The Met Gala will also pay tribute to Lagerfeld by having a dress code that simply reads, “in honour of Karl.”
Gala attendees can be expected to wear attire inspired by Lagerfeld’s work as the creative director of high-end fashion businesses Chanel and Fendi,
Viewers might anticipate.
Of course, a number of Met Gala attendees will probably wear the oversized, black shades that Lagerfeld favored.
For fans of celebrity fashion who couldn’t get their names on the ultra-exclusive guest list,
the event will be on television and streamed online live.
Who Is Hosting the 2023 Met Gala?
Actress Penélope Cruz, singer Dua Lipa, tennis star Roger Federer and screenwriter/actress Michaela Coel will serve as co-chairs of the gala.
Meanwhile, this year’s livestream will be co-hosted by television personality La La Anthony,
journalist Derek Blasberg, Saturday Night Live star Chloe Fineman and YouTuber Emma Chamberlain.
Can You Get a Met Gala Ticket?
The editor-in-chief of Vogue, Anna Wintour, organizes the Met Gala.
Your name won’t be on the guest list unless you’re extremely famous or Wintour’s pal.
It’s too late to buy a ticket now, but even if you could, you’d need a lot of money.
The Associated Press reports that individual tickets to the event cost $50,000, while a whole table costs $300,000.
However, you can still visit the Lagerfeld exhibition in person even if you can’t attend the gala.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art will display it from May 5 until July 16, 2023.
